Changes to this year’s Summer Reading Challenge

Hi Eagles!

Hope you are enjoying your first week of summer vacation!  There are few changes that I want to highlight for this year’s summer reading challenge:

-We are counting PAGES instead of books this year!  So for all you Harry Potter fans, rejoice! 😉

– Our OHE Summer Reading Challenge works great with the AISD #5BookDive!

To support success with the #5BookDive, all students now have the opportunity to access thousands of ebooks (in English and Spanish) through myON.com. MyON.com provides a quick interest and reading level inventory to guide students in finding books that they will love reading and can read on their own. MyON also provides audio and highlighting features to accommodate readers with comprehension.

Your student should have received a flyer. It will have the username and password needed to log on to the website.  All students attended an introductory class that logged them in, allowed them to complete a reading inventory to determine levels and interests.

We hope that your students will use this valuable resource over the summer. All of the books or pages read can count toward the Oak Hill Summer reading challenge.  Have a wonderful summer and happy reading!
